In our digital age, it is crucial for our children to develop social awareness and understand how to navigate the online world responsibly. With this in mind, we want to provide strategies for understanding and responding to conflicts that may arise online. We have attached a family handout for how to talk to your child about digital drama. These resources will serve as a helpful reference for you and your child to reinforce the concepts.
The use of technology enhances the way we teach and engages our students in learning. It also is a powerful tool in helping us to keep our commitment to equip our students with 21st century skills. Our community, district, and school work together to meet the goal of providing each of our classrooms with the latest and greatest access to technology.
Appropriate Use of Technology
We know that using smart devices, computers, and the Internet is a lot of fun. However, its use at school is a privilege, intended for educational purposes, and comes with responsibility. At HMS, we encourage safe and responsible use of technology. Please refer to the district Acceptable Use Policy in the left column of this page.
Media Center
Our media center is a dynamic resource. It’s a great place to check out a book as well as to use technology for research purposes and to collaborate with others.
